It was with much sorrow that we heard of the weekend passing of another #melbournefc great in Clyde Laidlaw. A tower of strength in four premierships - 1955, 1956, 1959 and 1960 - the boy from Portland was much loved by all in the #redandblue community, happy to share his memories, and a treasured friend to all his former teammates. Black armbands will be worn in his honour this weekend, when we play West Coast at the MCG. *Details of Clyde Laidlaw’s funeral arrangements will be provided when and if they are made available. #restinpeace #everyheartbeatstrue #mfcpastplayers
All associated with the #melbournefc were saddened to hear yesterday of the death of John Beckwith. John played in five #redandblue premierships, was a dual premiership captain, and will always be remembered and regarded as a club legend. As well as being a Best and Fairest winner, Hall of Fame inductee and member of the Team of the Century, John was much loved throughout the football community. He will always be treasured, and greatly missed. We offer our most heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and former teammates. *The funeral for John Beckwith will be held at Tobin Brothers Funerals, 1382 High Street, Malvern on Friday, 7 June, at 2 pm. #mfcpastplayers #restinpeace #everyheartbeatstrue
